A vibrant downtown is the heartbeat of a city where people come to visit, shop, live, and play. Downtown Bettendorf is in the middle of a major transition – a transition highlighted by the new I-74 Bridge that will lead to a more vibrant downtown if we work together and build a strong central heart that attracts new investment and energy. It’s time for downtown Bettendorf to strengthen our heartbeat, and we’re excited to introduce a new organization committed to seizing on this unique opportunity to accelerate downtown’s development.
The Downtown Bettendorf Organization (DBO) is being formed to help lead the charge for the future of downtown Bettendorf. What will our downtown look like? How do we attract more businesses, more visitors, and more residents into our downtown? The short answer is collaboration. A collaboration of property owners, business owners, residents, and the City of Bettendorf working together will shape the future of downtown. It is vital that we communicate and organize our efforts to create a downtown environment that embodies the spirit of Bettendorf.
DBO’s role will include helping these visions become reality. The DBO has formed a steering committee of downtown stakeholders and the following is a list of goals set by the committee to help lead the revitalization of downtown Bettendorf:
Short-term Goals-
• Beautification (Flowers, Planters, Seasonal Banners, Streetscape Maintenance) Bike Racks, Website and Social Media presence
Medium-term Goals-
• Community Events, Market Studies, Downtown Networking Events, Marketing, Murals, Gateway Signs, Electronic Signage
Long-term Goals-
