Lineup set for Alternating Currents Aug. 15-18 in Downtown Bettendorf

For the second consecutive year, Downtown Bettendorf Organization is hosting Alternating Currents with a mix of music and comedy performances in a variety of downtown venues. “In 2022, we piloted an AC comedy show and there was a lot of excitement,” said Ryan Jantzi, Executive Director of the Downtown Bettendorf Organization. “We’re doubling down on our efforts this year to include more comedy and music performances, and can’t wait to host more AC events.”  

Below is the full schedule of festival events organized by the Downtown Bettendorf Organization: 

Thursday, Aug. 15  

  • 6-8 p.m. Mariachi Camprianos Band at Verde

Mariachi Campirano is based out of Peoria, Illinois and has become a staple at Mercado on 5th. Dine on contemporary Mexican cuisine, sip a spicy margarita and enjoy Mariachi Campirano at Verde.     

Sunday, Aug. 18 

  • 2 – 3:30 p.m. Comedy show at Adventurous Brewing 
  • 4 – 5:30 p.m. – Subatlantic at Harley Corin’s 
  • 5 – 6:30 p.m. – Comedy show at Adventurous Brewing 
  • 7 – 8 :30 p.m. – The High Five Sinners at Harley Corin’s 

“Alternating Currents activates downtowns in such a unique way, and we are excited to partner with Downtown Bettendorf Organization to continue expanding the festival’s footprint,” said Alisha Espey, Alternating Currents Festival Director. “Downtown Bettendorf will be a hub for comedy and music lovers on Sunday and will close out a busy weekend of entertainment in the Quad Cities.”

Alternating Currents festival was founded in 2017 by the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP), a division of the Quad Cities Chamber. Now the event is powered by DDP and has expanded to include host downtowns Downtown Bettendorf Organization and Rock Island Downtown Alliance.
